Love to write, avid reader, listens to all sorts of music, enjoys online news comment boards, reading and commenting on other online journals, occasionally reviews online writer's works at fanstory.com, management of several online journals, and did I mention writing??? LOL

Also love playing around with graphic designs on Microsoft Paint, making abstract art, doing amusing photo captions on places like icanhascheezburger.com and to my e-mail friends, experimental cooking, making a great cup of coffee

Disabled since mid-2001, due to complications following hospitalization; was found to have pneumonia, COPD & CHF, mini-stroke, after several resuscitations for respiratory and cardiac arrest a tracheotomy was performed, was totally vent-dependent until @fall of 2001, weaned to trach collar and O2 by collar, has oxygen support 24/7 at home, is more or less self-maintaining now, using a ventilator at night to sleep, ambulatory using walker on bad days. Also treating insulin dependent diabetes, high blood pressure, epilepsy, neuropathy and depression.

Generally in decent spirits, don't really feel bad for myself, the way I see it, I was able to go home when others never made it out of there. I got a second chance to live; had done some things I wasn't really supposed to (all that stopped once I was hospitalized)Also had been a very heavy smoker since age 15, quit that too, and smoke-free more than 7 years now.

Occasionally I have a pretty good sense of humor, at times I can be known to say something outrageous or maybe a bit over-the-edge but that is me. I truly believe when you lose one thing you get another to compensate, I began to want to write more now than I ever did, poetry, short stories, message board comments, and the occasional picture caption.

Perhaps over time I will settle in here with some of you and we will become friends.
